Steampunk Hotel

I recently received an email from my sister entailing her adventures in the world of grad school tours, which included several pictures detailing the interior design of the Commons Hotel in Minneapolis. This was followed by a few admonishments to get off my arse and blog them already, and I've finally decided to stop procrastinating and do so now. These photos are a bit grainy, I'm afraid, having been shot with an iPod camera, but there are a few better ones on the hotel's website.

A small sort of library. Libraries... *drool*

A tin ceiling in the lobby. n_n  I love little architectural details like that.

Assorted Pictures

I needed a quick post, since my life has been boring lately, so I found some old pictures that I'd meant to post but never got around to. Locations: 1: A mansion in the Minneapolis area. 2-5: The Museum of Science and Industry 6-7: A museum in Portland, Maine

A Unique Photographic View of London

I have this thing for old buildings, especially abandoned and dilapidated ones, so I was completely geeking out over Derelict London, a photographic collection by Paul Talling. It really shows a different, much grittier side of London from the usual tourist sites, featuring factories, crumbling cemeteries (including, if I'm not mistaken, the one after which the band Abney Park was named), abandoned houses, and all kinds of things that make for an intriguing view of Victorian and modern London. Out of respect of copyrights, I cannot post any pictures here, but you can find all manner of them at Talling's official site.
